When he arrived, he stayed at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo and, while he was there, a young man gave him a message. The boy refused the tip that Einstein wanted to give him. So, he took two sheets of hotel stationery and wrote in German his theory of happiness which he handed to the young man.

The handwritten sheets, in which Albert Einstein explains how to achieve a happy life and which were in the possession of a relative of this young man, were auctioned on October 24, 2017, at the Winner auction house, for 1,56 million dollars.
