Today, in Republic Square in Luanda, the 50th anniversary of Angola's independence was celebrated, a date that restores to the country the full dimension of its own history.

The Angolan government has banned the commercial activity of scrap yards and weighing facilities for ferrous and non-ferrous materials in order to curb illegal practices.

During a visit to Angola, the former President of Cape Verde, Pedro Pires, stated today in Luanda that the visit served to strengthen institutional ties with the Head of State.
