The match between Morocco, organizer of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) which runs until January 18, 2026, and co-host of the 2030 World Cup with Portugal and Spain, and the Comoros national team, which includes Iyad Mohamed (Casa Pia) and Rémy Vita (Tondela), is scheduled for 20:00 PM local time (19:00 PM GMT-UTC).

The Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium, with a capacity of 68 spectators, is the venue for the match and will also host the final of a competition that has only been won three times by the host nations: Tunisia (2004), Egypt (2006), and Ivory Coast (2023).

This round of matches will be completed with the game between Mali and Zambia in Casablanca on Monday, the same day that Angola begins its 10th appearance against South Africa in Group B, while Egypt faces Zimbabwe.

Mozambique is also participating in this CAN 2025, with its debut scheduled for Wednesday against Ivory Coast, the reigning champion, in a Group F match that also includes Cameroon and Gabon.

With four winners in the last four editions – Ivory Coast in 2023, Senegal in 2021, Algeria in 2019 and Cameroon in 2017 – the host nation is the main favorite, in a race where it is impossible to rule out Egypt, the record holder for wins with seven, and Nigeria.

Ghana is the big absentee from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which also does not include Cape Verde, who will miss the continental competition despite having achieved unprecedented qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
