Conclusion
South Africa once again takes the lead in Africa when it comes to openness to sport from abroad. It was the first African country to receive the Formula 1 World Championship (1934 – 1993), Rugby World Championship (1995), Football World Cup (2010) and many other sporting events. This time, it gets Formula E.
This event, however, proves to be of greater importance than all the others, despite apparently not being so, but the reality behind this event is the fact that South Africa, aims to be the first country in the world to reach Zero Carbon, serving as a postcard for the rest of the continent.
Altogether, the importance of this event is to demonstrate that Africa as a whole cares about the environment and seeks to take the world lead in this area.
