Angola and Brazil strengthen cooperation in oil.

The National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) and the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels of Brazil (ANP) signed, this Wednesday, in Rio de Janeiro, a cooperation agreement for regulation and inspection programs exploration, development and production activities.

According to a note from ANGP to which ANGOP had access, the signing took place during the Rio Oil & Gas Conference taking place in Rio de Janeiro.

The agreement signed by the Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of the ANPG, Paulino Jerónimo, and the General Director of the ANP, Rodolfo Henrique de Saboia, will be valid for five years.

The agreement aims to establish cooperation in the fields of technical promotion for the strengthening of the oil and gas industry, as well as the transfer of knowledge related to technical standards and good practices in the oil industry.

For Paulino Jerónimo, the agreement formalizes a relationship of more than three years with the ANP, highlighting the experience of the counterpart agency and the brotherhood relationship between the Angolan and Brazilian peoples.

“One of the points we want to reinforce is our regulatory framework. We want to gain this experience that the ANP has”.

“The relationship between Angola and Brazil is transcendental, and this agreement reinforces the commitment between the governments to cement the relationship in the field of hydrocarbons”, he said.

Rodolfo de Saboia appealed for the relevance of the agreement, which he considers very promising.

The official also highlighted the brotherhood relationship between the peoples, stressing that the agreement transcends the interest of both countries in the exploitation of their natural resources and hydrocarbons.

“Brazil and Angola have a common past, a close culture with the same origin and a very close feeling of brotherhood”.

“The cooperation extends beyond these economic activities, but it is in this that we hope to achieve an even greater proximity between the two countries”.

“This proximity is achieved through this mutual exchange of experience and knowledge that each country can offer”, he reinforced.

The cooperation, object of the agreement, will be carried out through the periodic exchange of information and experiences, the carrying out of studies and joint investigation, as well as the training and capacity building of human resources.

ANPG participates in Rio Oil & Gas, from the 26th to the 29th of September, with a delegation headed by the PCA and composed of Directors, Directors and technicians, with a stand where it promotes the Angolan oil potential.

Angola and Brazil have maintained diplomatic and political relations since Angola's independence and, within the scope of the strategic partnership, there are 70 cooperation projects.

Brazil was the first country to recognize the Republic of Angola after the proclamation of independence on November 11, 1975.
