Lawyer and veteran human rights defender Tirana Hassan has been appointed executive director (SEO) of Human Rights Watch , the organization announced.
With decades of experience in the human rights and humanitarian fields, she was a program director at Human Rights Watch and has served as interim executive director since September 2022, following the departure of Kenneth Roth, who led the organization for nearly 30 years.
