Russia gives 20 thousand tons of fertilizer to Malawi.

The Government of Russia delivered today, March 6, 2023, 20 tons of fertilizers to Malawi, as part of the effort to secure diplomatic support from several African countries, which are expected to receive around 260 tons of fertilizers.

According to the Russian ambassador in Malawi, Nikolai Krasilnikov, the delivery of these 20 tons, out of a total of 260 planned for various African countries, symbolizes the hope that African countries will defend, at the summit between the continent and Russia, in St. Petersburg, at the end of July, the end of international sanctions against the invader of Ukraine.

At the ceremony, held this afternoon in the capital of Malawi, the Minister of Agriculture, Samuel Kawale, said that aid from Russia will reach 400 farming families and will be enough to increase production in the country.

According to the Associated Press news agency, a representative of the United Nations World Food Program was also present at the ceremony.
