12 Countries Banned from Entering the US

Donald Trump has banned citizens of 12 countries, seven of which are African, from entering the United States to "protect" the country from "foreign terrorists," according to a proclamation released by the White House on Wednesday.

12 Countries Banned from Entering the US

Donald Trump, the President of the United States of America (USA), signed this Wednesday, June 4, 2025, an executive order banning the entry of citizens of 12 countries, including one member of the CPLP, and partially restricting the entry of seven others, with the aim of "protecting" the USA against "foreign terrorists".

Target Countries

The ban signed by the US President takes effect on June 9 and applies to the following countries:

  • Equatorial Guinea (CPLP member state)
  • Chade
  • Democratic Republic of Congo
  • Eritreia
  • Libia
  • Somalia
  • Sudão
  • Afeganistão
  • Myanmar
  • Haiti
  • Iran
  • Iemen

The other seven countries where entry is restricted or limited are:

  • Burundi
  • Serra Leoa
  • Cuba
  • Laos
  • Togo
  • Turkmenistan
  • Venezuela

“These restrictions apply to both immigrant and non-immigrant entry.”.

He specified the executive order signed by Trump, released just days after the attack in Colorado. In March, US media outlets had already reported that the Trump administration was considering imposing restrictions on the entry of citizens from 43 countries into the US.

Prevent What Happens in Europe

Donald Trump justified this ban on entry into the US with the determination to prevent what is happening in Europe from happening on US soil.

“We will not let what happened in Europe happen in America.”

“We cannot have open immigration from countries that we cannot control or filter in a safe and reliable way.”

The US President stated in a White House post on the social network X. The executive order signed by Trump on Wednesday, according to him, aims to respond to "security threats" identified in analyses by US services that report a "large terrorist presence" in the US.

Failure to cooperate on visa policies, the inability to verify travelers' identities and inadequate criminal records, as well as persistently high rates of overstaying, are some of the reasons cited for this decision.

“The recent attack in Boulder, Colorado, underscored the extreme dangers posed to our country by the entry of unvetted foreign nationals.”

“As well as those who come here as temporary visitors and stay beyond the time limits established in their visas.”

“We don’t want them!”

On Sunday, a man threw incendiary devices at participants in a march in Boulder, Colorado, in support of Israeli hostages held in the Gaza Strip. According to the White House, the alleged perpetrator of the attack was "illegally" on US territory.

“It is the policy of the United States to protect its citizens from terrorist attacks and other threats to national security or public safety.”, explains the document.

Ironically, Egypt, the country where the man who carried out the Boulder attack is from, is not on the list.

Conclusiono

These restrictions are an insult and a lack of respect towards other countries and institutions such as the CPLP, with whom the USA has agreements of various types, demonstrating the North American slave mentality in relation to the African continent, following the position taken by AFRICOM General Michael Langley.

Chad has already retaliated and announced the immediate and effective suspension of visas to US citizens.
