Jobs in Guinea-Bissau

Guinea-Bissau is one of the countries with the highest levels of poverty in the world, with more than 80% of the population living on less than two dollars a day.

Despite this fragile situation, the country's economy has been expanding with foreign investment, an increase in the production volume of companies, among other factors promoting economic growth, which translates into a need to increase the workforce and, consequently, the creation of job opportunities.

Public policies aimed at promoting youth employment in the country face major challenges, namely in terms of the availability of support structures for training and preparing its human capital for insertion in the labor market.

On the other hand, even though no studies have been published and/or widely shared on the level of productivity, professional performance and the level of satisfaction of employees in institutions, whether public or private, a low level of productivity is informally verified.

Considering that one of the FWBW's axes of intervention is to encourage the development of the professional potential of young people, the FWBW intends to contribute to the creation of bases, structures and tools that promote a healthy insertion in the labor market and that value the active professionals through their empowerment and training.

A For Women by Women

FWBW is an educational platform that promotes the sharing of knowledge and experiences between professionals from different sectors. Led by founder and director Sónia Silva, the initiative has the support of volunteers in countries such as Guinea-Bissau, Portugal, the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

The main objective is to highlight the profile and achievements of Portuguese-speaking African women and young people, creating a bridge between Portuguese-speaking countries and the diaspora. The platform focuses on the personal development of young talents and the empowerment of African women, in particular PALOP and Lusophone women.

Through webinars, mentorships and workshops, FWBW supports the personal and professional development of women and youth, establishing a community where experiences can be shared and achievements celebrated.
